And now for the semis !
A cold front passed through showing 23 knots of wind this a.m. But that has now died down to more reasonable levels.
Torben puts his eggs on the left-hand basket, against the puffs to the right. Given the currents, LR has to travel a longer distance. Good measuring sticks... The Grael flair is unparalleled. But lateral seperation turns it into a bit of a lottery.
52 seconds lead after the run is nice, but it disappears due to the seperation and puffs favouring Oracle. At the leeward gate, down to 7 seconds delta. But all thanks to Spithill's good match racing abilities. Then they split laterally anew. Gamble, OK, but get good metrics on performance, eh?
Windward, Dixon's pick hurts big time: 450m back... But that dissolves to 100m in no time. Gotta kick the caffeine habit here.
At the beat mark, 1:21 delta. Fine. But now - in proper match racing style - *cover* ! Final delta 2:19, but truly with crazy wind conditions.

TNZ does a nice course pick, but powers away really fast where they gain 200 meters in 7 minutes. Depressing. Then Barker stays between his man an the marker. All the way.
